Mission objectives and key plot points are projected onto walls within the in-game world, in order to keep the player immersed in the gameplay. Other new features include the ability to interrogate characters in real-time, and use objects in the surrounding environment against them. This creates a visual silhouette where the guard thinks Sam is, allowing the player to flank his enemies. Another new feature is the "Last Known Position", which occurs when the player breaks the line of sight of an alerted guard. The player can choose to prioritize these targets, so that, for example, he can distract one guard by shooting out a light in his vicinity and then take out another guard. Splinter Cell: Conviction introduces a number of new gameplay features to the Splinter Cell series, one of which is the "Mark & Execute" feature, which allows the player to mark specific targets, such as enemies or objects, and shoot them in rapid succession without manually targeting each one.

Here, Sam Fisher guns down burglars in the tutorial flashback. Also, the game has a ton of guards in every level, so whipping the camera around quickly with the mouse is really nice for situational awareness. The Mark and Execute gameplay in use. BL feels like a shooting game wrapped in a stealth blanket, so the precise control of the mouse seems to help. But Chaos Theory onward feels much more natural to me using a controller, until we get to Blacklist. For that reason, the mouse (and quick saves on PC) are really nice. The first two games require more shooting and faster reflexes, with less forgiving guards and a fair amount of platforming. I've just never pushed the issue much or done a deep dive to solve it because I'm torn on if I like controller or mouse and keyboard better, honestly, even after half a dozen replays on multiple systems. In fact, the PT solution above technically works half-way on SC1, just with issues (no back to wall, etc). "fuck it, I'll just use the mouse and keyboard" trouble) is SC1, but I have seen solutions out there. Only game I've ever had serious trouble (like. Small price to pay in my opinion, and it isn't an issue. Only issue is after every loading screen, you have to wheel-up on the mouse so Sam can run at max speed. This is the controller support fix I use for PT.

Widescreen, PS3 Remastered textures and controller support, all working great. Widescreen resolution fix is still working on PT - I re-downloaded the game a few days ago.
